Outreach & Mission
At Asbury, we believe that the church is not just a building, but a people sent out to serve. Following the example of Jesus, our mission extends beyond our sanctuary doors and into the streets of Uniontown and Fayette County. We are committed to being a "hands-on" church, turning our faith into action through service, generosity, and local partnerships.
SERVING OUR NEIGHBORS
Our outreach is focused on meeting the immediate needs of our community while building long-term relationships. We take pride in supporting:
- Local Food Ministries: Partnering with area food banks and community meal programs to combat food insecurity in our neighborhood.
- Fayette County Partnerships: Working alongside local organizations and non-profits to support the most vulnerable members of our community, including families in transition and those in need of seasonal assistance.
- Special Seasonal Missions: From our annual "Angel Tree" at Christmas to back-to-school drives, we find joy in providing tangible help to local children and families throughout the year.
A GLOBAL VISION
While our hearts are in Uniontown, our mission is global. Through the United Methodist Connection, we support worldwide disaster relief, health initiatives, and sustainable development projects. When a crisis happens across the ocean, Asbury is there through our denominational reach, providing hope and healing to those we may never meet.
BE THE CHANGE
We believe that every member is a missionary in their own right. We encourage our congregation to look for the "mission field" in their daily lives—whether that’s volunteering at a local shelter, participating in a church-led work project, or simply showing radical kindness to a neighbor in need.
