At Asbury United Methodist Church, our foundation is built upon the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. We hold to the historic doctrines of the Christian faith, believing in the Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We view the Holy Scriptures as the primary guide for our faith and practice, believing they contain all things necessary for salvation. Central to our identity is the Wesleyan emphasis on Grace: Prevenient Grace (God seeking us before we even know Him), Justifying Grace (our reconciliation with God through faith), and Sanctifying Grace (the lifelong process of becoming more like Christ in our thoughts and actions).
Our faith is not meant to be static; it is a call to movement and service. We are committed to intentional discipleship, which means we prioritize spiritual formation through prayer, worship, and the study of God’s Word. We believe that personal holiness must be joined by social holiness. This commitment drives us to advocate for justice, care for the marginalized, and serve as a beacon of hope within the Uniontown community. We pledge to be a "big tent" congregation—a place where diverse perspectives are respected, and where the love of Christ serves as the common thread that binds us together.
